Want to create a "mood" DVD out of my local videos...
[Post New]
I am fortunate enough to live in a beautiful area in Northwest Arkansas in a smaller city located in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains. Bella Vista began as a resort area in the early 1900's and was developed as such for the rest of the 1900 and into the early 2000s. That is, until Bella Vista residents voted to incorporate and become a city in 2006.

Now we are the City of Bella Vista, home to 25,000 residents who all pay montly dues to maintain the 7 lakes, 8 golf courses, 4 Club Houses, and numerous parks, creeks with waterfalls, playgrounds, tennis courts and other amenities in Beautiful Bella Vista. Most who live here have moved here from out of town, as a place to retire, or to work at the home offices of many of the big companies who are based out of NW Arkansas, such as Wal-Mart, Tyson, and JB Hunt Trucking.

My idea is to put together all the beautiful nature video I've been taking since I took up videoing about 1 yr ago together into a single video that can be left in the DVR to provide backround ambience. Rather like the fireplace video I purchased of a roaring fire that eventually burns to ashes and then starts all over again. You wouldn't believe how that video tricks your mind into thinking you smell smoke and you're warm even though it's freezing outside. I'm always amazed when I play it....

Ok, enough background. I know PD9 can help me put the video's together into a cohesive "movie" but my question...can it also help me create the DVD with titles and have it repeat automatically everytime it's played? I'm thinking I'll need duel DVD discs to record to, so it will play long enough to create a mood, but I'm not sure how PD 9 can help me in creating the finished CD, or even if it can. Do I need a separate software for that part?

Thanks for any guidance you can give...

It is easy to make a DVD that will play to the end then repeat forever.

The trick is to use the "No Menu" template in the create disk module, Menu preferences.

"No Menu" is just that, no menu on the disk, but the video starts and plays continuously after you insert the disk in the player.

You can put chapters, they will not show because there is no menu, but the chapter skip buttons on the player remote will work.
