Hi All,

I purchased PowerDVD and loaded the associated app on an Android tablet. The tablet could play videos stored on the computer. It was pretty amazing.

I had a problem with the main computer and had to re-install PowerDVD. I also re-installed the app on the Android tablet.

Now, the tablet will not play any videos. I get this error message: "PowerDVD Mobile cannot play this video". "Check that PowerDVD 12 supports this video format".

Any suggestions?

The obvious question is what format?

It says "Check that PowerDVD 12 supports this video format"

Are you still trying to play the videos from your computer or have you tried loading a couple to your tablet? If so, did you try one of the other video players on your tablet? Are you properly sync'd?

What tablet? I just loaded a HD mp4 file and a low quality mp4 file on my Dell streak 7 and they both played. Surprisingly a wmv would not play. I have not tried the mobile application. .

I have tried a variety of videos: .mov .mpg, .mt2s.

They all seem to play fine before I reloaded the software on the computer. Now, I cannot get anything to play.

The videos loaded directly on the tablet play fine. I just can't get the shared video's on the computer to play on the tablet.

The tablet is an Asus Transformer.

What I thought was neat about the Android app was that you didn't have to load the video on the tablet; you could stream it to the device.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I loaded the mobile program on my lowly Dell Streak 7. It took me a long time to get through all the options but I was finally able to play videos.

In Power DVD 12, do you see your Asus linked? (Home Media DNLA?) Did you refresh just in case?
Did you re- authorize the device? I don't know if that authorization needed that but that seems to be the next stop.
Did you enable the video folders (remote)?

Has your Home network changed?

Is the Asus lo9oking for files and finding everything but the videos? What video player are you using on the Asus? Perhaps something changed there.

Since there are many steps and options, I'm going to guess that something has changed and needs to be changed back but it may take some digging.

Hi SteveK.

I can access everything from the tablet (Pictures, Music) except for the Videos. I can see the video thumbnails, I just cannot play them.

I assumed that the Android PowerDVD app had its own video player.

What does this mean "Did you enable the video folders (remote)? "

I never really understood how this app works. The videos stored on my home computer would NOT normally play on a tablet unless they were converted to a format the app could accommodate.

Is there some process running on the computer that converts these videos on the fly? Maybe that process is not running?

This stuff is pretty slick when it works.

I was referring to the options for sharing. See image

If that doesn't work, I'm not sure what to do next. Sometimes you just have to start from scratch - delete the mobile application from the tablet and then reinstall it.

Let us know if you can solve the problem.
