Pixellation

I have just purchased PowerDirector 10, which I have managed to find my way around more easily than I thought. However, there is one aspect that has me stumped. Why does a clip when transferred to the timeline become pixellated, and apparently remain so even at output. I checked that the problem is not with my original material because it also happens on the sample clouds/grasses clip provided. How do I eliminate the pixellation?

set the preview option to High preview resolution or HD preview resolution (if you have 64bit OS)

EDIT: Whoops. Double posted. Too slow again. Sorry bankroot.

Quote: Why does a clip when transferred to the timeline become pixellated, and apparently remain so even at output.

Apparently, or Definitely?
(I mean Definitely, as in… you Produced your edited video files to one of the high quality video file options in PD’s Produce Room, and the produced high res file is also highly pixilated when viewed in say… Window Media Player)

Or is this perhaps just a Preview Player resolution settings issue?
PD’s default Preview Player setting (upon purchase), is set to Normal. Have you tried some of the other settings?

Thank you very much for this quick reply, Bankroot. It's the kind of very simple solution that you can miss when exploring the software for the first time.

The thing about preview resolution is:

The higher you go with it, on MOST computers it will cause your preview to stutter and bog down as PD renders your project on the fly. I always use normal, and the many effects and transitions are always smooth, as I know my finished product will look fine. Nor do I ever have any effects or transitions act up in my finished product. Some computers, even 64 bit Win 7 and new ones cant handle the HD preview well. Or other aspects to PD10 for that matter........... __________________________________________
