Chapter and Worse (Resolved)

I was experimenting with chapters (trying to help with another thread), and now I have the strangest problem.

If I start a new project, as soon as I drop something onto the timeline I get a "Chapter 1" at the beginning of the timeline. If I add another clip, I do not get another chapter; it only happens with the first clip. It doesn't matter where I drop my first clip, it can be 10 minutes from the start of the timeline; the unwanted chapter always appears at the start of the timeline.

What's worse is that I cannot delete that chapter. The "delete chapter" and "delete all chapters" buttons are disabled when I select it. If I manually add more chapter markers and click on "delete all chapters", all of the ones I added manually are removed; but that first one stays.

If I insert a clip before "Chapter 1", "Chapter 1" stays at the beginning of the timeline.

I can add and delete other chapters at will.

I've attached a quick example.

If there is some setting in the preferences, I can't find it.

Suggestions?

Hi jerrys,
That is a common happening after you have enabled the 'chapter timeline'...( I think as I have had the same happen) I believe you just hide it LOL (that is what I do).

Jim

So after all this time I never noticed that there is always a chapter mark at timecode 00:00:00:00?

Sheesh!

I guess I never had that track showing unless I had already entered the chapter room.

Thanks, Jim
