Just for the record, Power Director 10 seems to be much smoother and faster in the latest beta Windows 8 64 bit (build 8400) released a couple of days ago.
I have been using it for a few days from Microsoft TechNet download and it really seems a lot faster and have yet to get it to crash using HD files working it very hard...
This release from Microsoft will be close to the final version coming in October(we hope)... Windows 8 Pro 64bit

How does it compare to Windows 7 64bit with PD 10?

It seems to be a lot smoother and faster than Windows 7.
Very stable....
I will be running some more through tests when I get the time. Windows 8 Pro 64bit
