Ugh..not a happy camper with PD10. Burning and video issues

I upgraded to PD 10, and since then I am unable to use it on Windows 7. I'll start to load a project and it crashes out. I've reinstalled PD10, Quicktime etc to no avail. I've also send in the feedback report.

So, now I use it on Win XP. The one problem I was having was I'd import my MOV files, and when I'd go to edit them, there was only audio, no video. Now, if I hit the 3D button, the video would show up. Fixed all that by reinstalling Quicktime on XP.

Now my latest problem. I will go to burn a 2D DVD, and it will crap out anywhere from 20-50% of the way in. Same for producing a video, or trying to write it to a folder. I used the preview trick to see what the problem is, and its the transitions. NONE of the transitions work...if I remove one, it'll stop at the next one. This has resulted in my having to remove all the transitions and just using "fade out" at the end of a scene. To answer the next question, I apply all lighting / enhancements etc at once ...then I tried doing it clip by clip as I went...no change.

PD should work as it was intended. I'm half tempted to uninstall 10 and reinstall 9 since I didnt have these problems.

The videos I make are for my daughters competition cheerleading gym, and I'm due to make a promo video for their website...I'd love to have transitions that work..... any ideas?

(btw...plenty of HD space, 4 gigs memory, HD Radeon 5600 series card with latest update, Quad core AMD 9950 processor).

Can you attach a copy of the computer's dxdiag.txt. I know I have more trouble now with the latest update than I did originally, but that is unscientific evidence for any problem in the build. __________________________________

Major problem here............ I am surprised you can render anything with only 12 gig free disk space.... the only real problem I see....

Drive: C:
Free Space: 12.7 GB
Total Space: 80.0 GB

I now realize that when I did the dxdiag...it was from XP (the version that actually works.) I'll have to run dxdiag from Windows 7, which is installed on my f:\. The drive is larger and has more space, and yet still will conk out...ugh

Is that an NVidia driver a beta version? Can you roll it back to a previous version?

Not even sure why they're still there. I'm using the AMD Radeon HD 5600 series. Already deleted the nvidia junk just in case
