I have two versions of powerdvd: 11 and 12 and I have noticed a big problem with the hardware aceleration in version 12 ( videos in HD or mkvs).

Here are my tests:

PowerDvd 11 mkv 1920x1080 reproduction:
Hardware aceleration activated
CPU usage: 17%
Reproduction is OK

PowerDvd 12 mkv 1920x1080 reproduction:
Hardware aceleration activated
CPU usage: 60-70%
Reproduction is very bad with slowdowns

My hardware.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 a 2,5 Ghz
GPU: Mobility Radeon HD 3650 (latest drivers)
Ram 4 GB
Windows 7 x64 bit

As I have said no problems with version 11, only 12!!

Huge leap of utilization right there. Anyways, is there a task manager for PowerDVD just like Shift+ESC from Chrome?

Considered that maybe hardware acceleration is not to blame and maybe it's one or more of the periphial services that automatically gets installed with powerdvd 12?
