Audio
I have had questions before, about the
"Capture", which resolved itself by
recording "what you hear" through the
computer onto the capture setting. (
don't know if this was the easiest way,
certainly was not the quickest way, but
it worked)
Now I'm struggling with the audio editing.
In the beginning I had 2 clips ( about
23 in the entire video), which I muted
and have captured .wma files in the
music slot.
Then I get to where I want the video to
take over the "natural sound", I use the
mixer... I turn down the music, and turn
up the video. This mixig style goes on
for about an hour into the video,
thinking that I have mixed voice, music
and video audio perfectly into my movie,
only to find out that whatever I last
did, stays throughout the entire video!
If I mute the first Video-clip, ALL the
video clips are muted, if I turn up the
Music, ALL music in the entire video
drown out whatever I had mixed over.
I am to the point where I capture the
entire 4 hour wedding so I can use the
audio of the wedding in either the voice
or the music bar and match it to the
video ( no fun I can assure you of
that), but now I'm fining that even in
the first clip of the video, and the
first clip of the audio, when matched up
( like lipsync), the audio matches for a
few minutes, then it starts lagging
behind, I am to the point where I am
tearing my hair out.... please help. I
want to get this right, without having
to match "lipsync"
Why is my mute and mixing not working in
the first place? I read all the help
about audio, and am following it, but to
no avail.
BTW ( I can not find the "speed" control
as mentioned in the help file in my
version 1.5 ( came with the camera when
I purchased it.
P.S am I correct in assuming that to
redo this video for viewing in Germany I
need the 'PAL' and for the USA the NTSC?

The reply at the end of my message is the reply I got in my e-mail
(maybe it could help out anybody else struggling with the same problem.
I tried it and it did not work for me.
I guess I would be better off learning a little more about Microsoft Powerpoint and doing my project in there.
I really expected a lot more out of this software that came with the camera ( the camera is not cheap, so I expected the software to be at least true to its statements).
Well, seems like not a whole lot of people know enough about it to reply...shame.
Wishing everybody else better luck.
Petra

Dear Petra,

Thank you for contacting Cyberlink Online Customer Support.

In regard to your issue, we would suggest you to take 4-5 clips and then mute and use the audio mixer room and check do you still get the same problem or not.

Regarding the speed button you have an OEM version of software in which speed button is not included so in order to use the speed button you need to purchase the full version of PowerDirector .

Please feel free to contact us back for any further clarification in this issue or for any assistance related to Cyberlink Products.

Thank you and best regards

Petra,
I had this same problem. What I did to get around it was to break the video into clips. If I didn't want the existing audio, I made it a separate clip and muted the audio. I believe you can do this with the "split" feature. I actually edited the clips in a separate program because I wanted to put titles and animation inbetween a long 2 1/2 hour video. Once you do the split, they should mute separately and not effect each other.
As for the synching problem, I have had problems with that too. There's a great program that seems to fix this called Video Redo. It re-synchs audio that's out of whack. I recommend it highly. Especially if you are pulling in data from VHS and converting it to DVD.
Hope this helps!
