you cam 3.5 dark

This came with my machine and worked fine in the house but no matter what I do now you cannot see anything but a black screen unless you point it directly at a light then you see the barily visible light. I never messed with any settings until now trying to get it to work again and no matter what I adjust it wont show up anything hardly. I put it back to default like it came when it worked and am at a loss.

Have you tried using your camera on other software like IM clients and see if it will work on it fine? The problem may not be coming YouCam itself.

When I start yahoo cam it starts youcam. I think it is something to do with the driver or camera. I upgraded to youcam 5, still the same thing but a USB camera works fine inside the house like the built in cam used to. This machine isnt that old, about 9 months. HP pavillion. I found the driver in device manager and it says HP TrueVision HD and updated it and it says I already have the latest driver. I do not know what I need if I were to reload it...Cannot find out and have been trying. I am not a geek on these things.

I am also having same problem with my you cam 3.5 on my HP Ultra book envy-4 same black screen. Other party can not see my face when doing video call on Skype. I can see them but mine transmitting only black screen.
operating system Window 7. Its a brand new ultra book.
Any one can help.
