Exporting particles to avi (or other formats), how?
[Post New]
I recently purchased PD10 and I'm fooling around with it (and finding it really interesting!).
I was wondering whether it was possible to export particles to other formats, such as avi or other formats.
I guess I could always use a screen capture program and save it as avi, but I wish I didn't have to do that!

Any ideas?

There may be an easy way to do that, put the particle you want on Track 1, switch to Produce Module, Produce your AVI or any format you want to use. Be aware there are 4:3 Particles and 16:9 Particles, which one you get depends on the aspect ratio setting of your project.

If the only thing in the time line is your wanted particle, that is what would be produced.

The transparent area of the Produced AVI would be black because that is the color of 'nothing' in powerdirector.

Later you can use Chroma Key to take out the black.

Hi there -

Carl's suggestion works, of course... but as he mentioned, the transparent background will be lost during the production phase.

If you wanted to use these in some other video production, you'd need to (a) be happy with the black background or (b) chroma key out the black.

Cheers - Tony

Might be better to put a bright background to chroma-key.

Good suggestion, Barry.

Maybe use a Green Color Board. If you put a color board, you would put the color board in track 1 and the particle in track 2.

I'll have to get acquainted with this Chroma key first, then I'll tell you how I went.
