Hi:

new to PD10. Helping my son with his Spanish music video. The title word requires a tilde over the "n" in the word Suenos...Can't figure out how to insert this character using the text box choices in the title editing field. Any thoughts?
Nothing popped up when I searched "tilde" or Spanish words in the help index or forum.
Gracias

Try this...find the correct font, that is to say the n with tilde, copy it and then go to your title and find the place you want to put it, and use "shift insert " that should place it there.

I just did it and it worked fine..

Here is one for you to copy Ñ or this Sueños

test post
In the Welsh Language a circumflex is placed over the letter "a". This lengthens the sound the letter represents.

I use the AltGr button on my keyboard to write the letter after installing a Language keyboard software, â or ô display

If the above is done in PD the characters are not accepted unfortunately. To circumvent this issue I write the text in Word and then use Copy'n'Paste to transfer the information to Title Designer. Shift+Insert would paste the info in as well.

Claire -

The copy/paste method Dafydd described is the easiest way to go about it when the special characters don't work in Title Designer. You can also copy & paste directly from any text source, including a web page.

So...I tried both google translate, typing it into word and taking it from the posts above. I highlight it, right click for "copy" and when I go to "paste" it into the Title, no right click is available in the title designer window of my title. Am I missing something? Where do I paste text from another souce, such as word or a web page, into the title designer?

Thanks

Claire -

Use the keyboard commands Ctrl+C to copy & Ctrl+V to paste in Title Designer...

Like this. I went to a website, selected the text, typed Ctrl+C, jumped back in here & typed Ctrl+V

¡Feliz cumpleaños!

Claire1717 ;
If you have a full size keyboard, you can generate the "ñ" character or "Ñ" character directly within Title Designer:

Ñ = PRESS AND HOLD "ALT", then use the numeric keypad to enter the following 4 numbers - 0209 , then release ALT
ñ = PRESS AND HOLD "ALT", then use the numeric keypad to enter the following 4 numbers - 0241, then release ALT

Dafydd;
There are also keystrokes that work for the Circumflex Characters (see Windows Character Map)"
â= ALT + 0226
ô = ALT + 0244

You guys rock!

Ynotfish: the control C and control V worked perfectly which helped with the other spanish words.

FredB: the Alt - codes worked too....now we have our tildes in the title!

Thanks so much for your prompt responses.
