I recently purchased the Powerdirector 10 to start editing mx videos. I have never used any editing software before however, I have used sign making software so I have some knowldge of using programs.

My question is, can anyone provide me with a link to a first time users guide for this program? I have played around and just cant figure out what I am doing...

Hi JoJmoto16

Welcome to the forum

Here's two PD instruction videos from PDToots from Youtube. They are using PD8 in this tutorial but the basics are the same for PD10.

Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/user/PDtoots#p/u/9/jXG2jDTHyKw

Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/user/PDtoots#p/u/8/ccSNU_Z7BRc

In fact there are a lot of tutorials on Youtube - even Cyberlink have their own

Here's a link to the User Guide for you to download

Have a great day

Happy editing

Happing editing

Thanks for the replys and the links.

No typo, I purchaesed the newest PD which was 10 and it appears pretty technical. Not sure if I did the right thing or not with my Software choice seeing as I am new to this...

I purchased a new computer just so I can use it for this purpose so I have no issues there.

I can pull up the program and load videos into the editing window ect... I just can seem to figure out how to load and properly place/link my clips and make it look like a nice smooth video.

I also have cyberlink wave editor too.... have not even looked at that thing yet to see what it is... From what I can tell, it looks like audio editing but not sure if it is to be use in combination with the PD 10 or what....

Wave editor is exactly what it is... a wav file editor. It is installed when you install Power Director. Only does .wav files. I never use it because it is basically worthless for my use. I only use mp3 audio files, a lot of us use Audacity (free) it does several audio formats. __________________________________________

For those that want to use WaveEditor is does handle more than .wav files, it handles wav, wma, mp3, and m4a audio files. You can import the tracks directly in WE or launch within PD by the "Edit Audio" feature.
