I don't see CRUS service running on my win 7 64 bit. In fact I just started PD 10 and still don't see it running. Intel i7 5960X overclock to 4 Ghz 16 GB of ram.

Thanks for your input Michael ... strange one this.
My PD10 functions correctly as I guess yours does so what is this 'Rich Video' stuff? I expect one of our experts has the answers so I will tread water just for now in case it is important and I can't start it again if I stop it in Task Manager.

Found this ... so can I safely stop it when its not in use

I assume you mean CRVS, not CRUS, if so I don't think it’s abnormal, you can check windows services (services.msc) and scroll through the list and right click for properties and see how you have it configured to load, most likely it is set to automatic so it will launch as any other windows service. It should not be consuming any real resources when "idle" though.

Yep typo Jeff ... should be CRVS.
As you have identified it is set to auto and since it consumes little resource when not in use I think I will leave as is. Must be that other users have set theirs to 'manual' ... my 'automatic' must have been set by the programme when installed.
