You are perfectly correct in your assessment. CyberLink see the main forum here as the one for answering issues related to their software products. The DirectorZone is intended as a forum for those who want to specifically ask about DZ content and the promotion of that content by their creators.
For example. If a member creates a new Title and shares/uploaded it on the DZ. One could post the info/link to it on the forum. The DZ's a central place to tell everyone and ask members to try out.
The DZ is not intended to be a program answer/question location. It did lose it's way and even i was confused by its purpose. I am, ever since I had to try and deal with a "spam invasion" taking a more proactive stance. I redirect members to the right forum.
