Importing AVI file from MSI Afterburner (native MPEG)
[Post New]
Hi,
I am trying to import a avi file from MSI Afterburner program that I captured from in game. It says it is recorded with native MPEG compression, but will not play in Director.. I know the avi is ok because it plays in mediaimmpressions, but when I play it in Win. media player it says it had audio issues..
When I try to import it into director, it says the format may not be supported.

Is MPEG the same thing as MPEG-1 ?
Can director import native MPEG ?

Thanks for the info ....

To find out what the encoding of the file is use MediaInfo.

If you post the file info please attach the Text file.

MPEG may be either mpeg-1 or mpeg-2.

I do not like Format profile : OpenDML
That does not look like any format that PD would be happy with.
The bit rate is way too high for PD, Overall bit rate : 640 Mbps

Thanks Carl312..

I Don't see any other info that can be taken off mediaInfo. I exported to a text file and it is attached.
Is there another setting in mediaInfo that I am missing that can show more info ?

How would I lower the bit rate ? Less resolution or FPS ?

As for the format OpenDML.. Must be the program uses this format ?
The only other format I can choose for compression is RTV-1.

Thanks for the help...

Thanks for the text file.

There was another post on the forum about a another screen capture program, FRAPS, that caused problems in PD because of that capture format that produced that extemely high bit rate, that program had a setting to record multi-sound, when turned off and capture stereo sound, the captured AVI worked in Pd.

The bit rate came down to around 8-10 Mbps, which is fine with PD.

So you need to explore different capture settings to make a compatible AVI for PD.
FPS may the the right area, I don't know. But I sure would check the capture settings and the sound settings.

The post on FRAPS:
