Hey All,

I recently upgraded my OS from Vista to Windows 7, then reinstalled my Power Director 9. I had no issues with it when working in Vista but now in Windows 7 it won't let me create a DVD. I edit my project as usual and go into create DVD as usual..I can go all the way to click on BURN and the dialog window showing the burn process comes up and starts counting elapsed time..but..nothing happens. The burning process never starts. I can't even create a folder as it does the same thing. I have dowloaded all the updates and changed compatabilty but I still have the same problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried adjusting the optical drive's (the burner) properties before starting the burn process? If so, or even if not, and you're able to use other burning programs just fine, then it's an issue with PD. If you're unable to use other burning programs, then it's your drive.

What is a dxdiag.txt and how do I attach it...

Also..I have tried using the burner through other programs and it burns just fine so I know it's not the burner. I have also pulled other video files in PD and attempted to create a DVD and the same thing happens..So I know for sure it's a program problem. What I can't figure out is why it worked before I upgraded to Windows 7 and it doesn't work now. I have not changed anything else with the computer...I am contemplating upgrading to PD10 but that's no guarantee it will solve the problem and I don't have the $50 right now. I have several projects that I need to burn for clients that will pay me..but I need this program to work...GRRRR

DXDiag:

> Go to Start
> Type "dxdiag" in the Search box (without quotes)
> Click "Yes" if it asks about something to do with 'digitally signed drivers'
> Click "Save All Information" at the bottom
> Attach the "DxDiag.txt" file to your next post. --- PowerDirector 9 ---
