Any way to use custom resolutions?
[Post New]
I mostly use the *.m2ts or *.mp4 production files, and I was wondering if there was any way to set up a custom resolution for these? My monitor's resolution is 1600x900, and when I go to record gameplay videos and produce them, I would like for them to be in that resolution.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks. --- PowerDirector 9 ---

This has been brought up before, and I believe the answer is no. If there is a way, I don't know what it is. __________________________________

While in the produce section, click on the profile you like and hit the "+". This creates a custom profile. Set a few things you like and give it a name and description. Then go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\9.0 and you will see a Profile.ini file. Edit that file (notepad) and change the video width and video height to your specs for the named profile you created. Use it to produce and see if it works for you.

Thanks for the replies guys. I tried the .ini file edit (set it to 1600x900), and it replaced the resolution with 320x240 (the lowest).

Oh well. Thanks anyways! --- PowerDirector 9 ---

What profile did you start with? I used the AVC h.264 and was successful in modifying to 1600 x 900. MediaInfo of produced file verified 1600 x 900.

I haven't tested it but you might also be able to achieve this in a custom .mov file.

Hi SLeePYG -

You can modify the .ini file, as Jeff explained... or just use any of the 16:9 profiles (1920x1080/1280x720) & set your media player to full screen (maximise).

The attached WMV profiles are 1600x900 @ 2MBps. If you drop them in C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Language\Enu\Profiles, they'll be available under Produce > WMV

Personally, I'd just maximise the media player screen.

Cheers - Tony
