Problem with latest patch

Has anyone had problems installing the latest patch? At the end of my install it gave me the message Error 1907.module C:\program files\cyberlink\powerdirector\PDVidAnd.dll failed to register HResult - 2147220473

Then the next window did the same thing except if failed to register file PDEditingMgrWrapper.dll

When I restarted the computer and the install continued until it told me that this patch only works with the retail version and not the trial version. I have never even installed the trial version on this computer! I uninstalled and re-installed and it did the same thing a 2nd time.

This is VERY FRUSTRATING considering how perfect the program was running previously.

Any ideas (I've posted this question to the support email, too)

Cindy,

I've referred this to CyberLink.

I need you to tell me what stage you're at. Have you uninstalled Powerdirector from your system? have you then re-booted? have you then re-installed PowerDirector upto 1731b not the latest patch.

Please let me know.

The patch did all the uninstalling . . . I just followed the directions as it came up, but as the program was installing, those .dll files would not intall. I rebooted, but couldn't even open the program because it was not completely installed. I was able to go back and reinstall the original PD 6.0 through patch 1731b. I am now back to square one.

I contacted tech support with this same problem that I posted here. For 3 separate times they keep responding by telling me to uninstall PD and gave me a site to re-download the entire program. HOWEVER, for 3 times it would not allow me to download the program from the server because it said I had an invalid u/n & p/w (which I know I typed in correctely). When I try to download a 2nd time, the server just totally locks me out.

I'm about ready to just leave well enough alone and wait until there is a patch I really need since everything works fine now.

Any ideas?

Hi Cindy,

I've been waiting for your reply....

If I get this wrong... shout at me. You have PD installed. It is version 1731b - correct?

If you're in that situation then wait until a further update is available. The patch which caused you hassle has been withdrawn for modification - tweaking.

The download link you've been given - I'm not sure of the problem you are incurring - it could be you're browser is blocking a cookie/tracking pages viewed or something basic. If this continues and you need the download then supply the info to me to check and I can then give you some back up assistance.

Hi Dafydd,

Thank you for the information about the patch being recalled. That saves me a lot of headache! I do have a working copy with patch 1731b installed and it is working fine, so I will just leave things alone and finish my projects with this version.

I did get a 4th message with a download link with a new u/n and p/w. Would you suggest that I TRY to download that full version that includes the latest patch in case I would need to reinstall it again rather than my original 6.0 and the subsequent patches that have come out? I don't know that I can even download it again, but I'll try.

However, you did give an idea. I have been trying to download the file through my AOL account. Maybe something on AOL is blocking it and I just need to download it using Internet Explorer.

I do have one more unrelated question. Is Cyberlink ever going to come out with more effects, transitions or menus? I have made quite a few projects using all of their wonderful effects, but I need some new stuff!

Thanks,
Cindy

Hi Cindy,

Do you need the full version they are offering? It is a 490mbish download - it's your call.

RE: I do have one more unrelated question.
I passed your requested onto a few heads of department, that's about all I could do
