Hi,
I would say just for standard DVD format and then with little effects...

Memory is re3ally inexpensive right now so I would add some to that computer. I would also consider installing a real video card. What you have may be enough to do some things but that is probably not what you want.

I have a good video card and I'm still having to work with software "encoding" to prevent crashes. .

Hi kcroes -

Is this a PC you already own or are you thinking about it?

Personally, I think it's going to struggle doing much more than basic editing with SD video, especially if this is the graphics processor... http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu.php?gpu=Intel+HD+i3-2120

PD10 has the ability to fall over on my PC - and has done! Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz - 8GB RAM - Nvidia GTX 260

Cheers - Tony

This machine will struggle with PD10. It is a laptop, correct? Shared video memory will cause slowdowns.
Only 4GB of RAM is too low.
A model# would help us, too???

Nayan007;
"Works for me" is an often heard phrase here.

Our cautions to kcroes are based on many experiences for many users, with many machines. So..kcroes..be cautious I would suggest.

Hi,
Video editing has always been a resource hungry effort for a desktop PC and laptops. Purchasing an underpowered unit with the expectation of editing full HD will only lead to disappointment.

Regardless of the manufacturers spiel on how great their unit is, please listen to what members are guiding you to and away from.

If I was asked "would I buy this computer for video editing?" My answer would be NO, I'd look for a more powerful unit.

PowerDirector needs the power, HD video needs the power, you need to enjoy video editing.

I want to second that thought about video cards vs video chips and to add a little.

It may be my imagination but Power Director seems to "like" NVidia cards better than ATI cards. I have to use "software rendering" even with my 4850 ATI card with updated drivers. Granted the card is a 2 year old model. .
