In the earlier thread I was advised that there was a much later build (3305, my current build was 2330) so I downloaded and installed the patch. That turned out to be a big mistake! Afterwards the MPEG-2 I produced from my latest project showed the classic signs of frame order reversal when I played it back in Media Player.
To check, I produced a new MPEG-2 from an older project, saved into a temporary folder, then compared the old MPEG with the new one and sure enough the older one was ok and the new one frame-reversed. In all cases I was using the default MPEG-2 profile.
I've since de-installed Powerdirector and re-installed the earlier build from the CD which has cured the problem.
This seems a very strange fault so I wonder if anyone else has seen this.
