I would like to burn a test video in both 1080/60i and 720/60p to Blu-rays and see which looks better on my player/tv. Does anyone know of a good test file that would make any difference noticeable?

Try this

Use the writing on the left side. One has to use static patterns, video is useless, hard to define.

The 1954 pattern is pretty good too but only for resolution. After all your main difference is going to be resolution.

Do not throw it away, you paid good money for it.

I can read #10 although the modulation is down somewhat. Also look for overshoot, when sharpness is turned up too high,
there should be none, that usually means sharpness at or near minimum.

Anyway, my 5 cents worth.

Ronk, I'd suggest you use real life footage from your cam. Grab a couple of clips:
- Daytime, good light, fast moving pans or action (sport etc) - should test change in P --> I
- Daytime, good light, close up of some details (face, flower etc) - should test chnage in 1080 --> 720
