Jerry -

I don't know how useful this is to you, but...

1. with no lack of audio, the clip you attached (628213937.mpeg) played fine in VLC Player, DivX Plus Player, MPC, WMP
2. with no lack of audio or sync issues, it played in the media library & timelines of PD9 & PD10

Some players install their own set of codecs built in (VLC, for example).

You mentioned that you uninstalled K-Lite & it fixed the problem. My PC is running K-LIte (Full), & it played your captured clip as described above.

I guess all that tells you is that the capture is actually being done correctly.

Cheers - Tony

At this point the only remaining (discovered) problem is that synchronization problem during the monitoring of a capture. The captured file is good.

I guess the workaround is to not look at the screen while doing a capture.

Thanks, folks. I really appreciate the help. Jerry Schwartz

I was going to suggest that as a solution, but I bit my tongue.

I'm having the same problem. I have a GoPro mp4 file that plays in Pinnacle studio editor and every other player I have but not PowerDirector 10 trial version. I get the message...

"Cyberlink PowerDirector could not construct the media source as a graph. This may be due to a lack of decoding filters for the file you are trying to edit." every time

I ran GSpot and it says "Codecs are installed" and again all of the MP4 GoPro files play fine on all three of my computers.

I seriously want to purchase this program but it seems Cyberlink is just not consumer friendly enough to make a sticky specifically for this problem. I've already spent hours trying to fix this.

Hi James,

I undersand what you're saying and I will post the dxdiag shortly but what you're implying is that Powerdirector is so sensitive it would be like Detroit would have to build each Ford or Chevy on it's own assembly line separate from all other Fords and Chevys. I can throw every mp4 I have into other editors and they open no problem.

I already have a bad feeling about this program.
