No - it's not fine for anyone to do that, but members will respond to your "tone". Sorry you felt like you were getting nowhere. It's a shame because there are pleny of folks who'd help you out here.

Cheers - Tony

Hey kid, if you offer someone a favor, AFTER an insult (All the fan boy responses or insulting on myself does not change this fact - SHOW ME THE INSULT), and what you get back is pig-headed know-it-all more insults and boorishness and poor spelling (knowledge bass)...well, what would you expect? We do this as a hobby, some semi-pros here, too. We've all been totally in the dark over things and know how that feels. So we help, and make new friends. I am not a member here so I can heap crap on people. I am here to learn, keep abreast of new issues, and help answer questions.
You have been a dink from the word "go". Re-read how you started, then screw.

Hey there, just thought I'd post my results from trying what abslayer suggested - that is, making a high quality MPEG-4 and 'burning' it to a folder, then using Nero to burn it to a DVD. (And yes, the pictures really helped me 'get it'! )

My problem is a mis-match of technology - my new video camera is way ahead of my TV, and waaaaay ahead of my DVD player. So although a high quality MPEG-4 looks great on my computer, I don't have the technology to play it on my tele. The two-step process of making the DVD provided me with a definite increase in visual quality. Of course, it is nothing like the picture quality when all the technologies are at the same level, but for me it seems like a helpful interim measure. Many thanks to Tony, Carl and Barry for clarifying the technical issues through this thread.

This leads me to another question - when you're in-between technologies, what is the best way to store your video? It's probably different enough for a new thread, so I'll go ahead and start one. Thanks. (Here it is: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/0/21265.page#113133.)
