Ok, but again - the original is fine. I created an MP4 of the clips that looks fine on my computer. It's only after uploading to YouTube that it's overly soft. So it isn't the camera that doesn't like the dark and fast moving material, it's YouTube.

Hi

It could be YT as 'they' re-render the file using 'their' system.

Try uploading small differently rendrered file types - AVI, MPEG2, AVCHD etc etc to see which one YT likes.

Dave,

The followng short clip is also produced H.264 at 1920X1080p then uploaded to YT. It is fast moving action shot indoors at an arena. Some minor light correction was used pre-production.

Original footage is 1920X1080i. You will see the quality is very good. At least I think so.

Halcon - thanks. That looks pretty good, better than mine. But not exactly HD. Wasn't your original a lot better? For example, you can't really recognize anyone's face.

Dave if you are looking for crystal clear HD on any of the internet video sites you won't get it. They all choose their own particular settings compromising with video quality and download speeds.

At best they are all a compromise, that is why it is best to do some testing with a 10 second clip of different formats to find one that is satisfactory for you.

cheers

Try some test video on Vimeo and see if it is better. Some of the HD videos there are stunning.
