Dear Saaber,

suggest that you contact drive manufacturer and report this issue - from our experience the issue is adressed to conflict between older BD drive and latest PowerDVD + latest OS version.
It may need an updated firmware to fix this issue

After confirming that the issue is not software and not the OS, I finally broke down and called Dell. I reimaged the computer with both Windows 7 and Vista and reinstalled PowerDVD. Nothing worked to fixed the problem. Dell is sending a new drive.

All I can think of is spontaneous hardware failure or something happened after\while the last Bluray disc that worked - Ninja Assassin. I'm trying to remember if the disc had me set my drive region, but I dont remember. Even if it did, that shouldn't have killed the drive's ability to play Bluray discs.

I purchased and installed a LG WH 10LS30 Blu-ray Disc Rewriter. It appears to have corrected the AACS License Key looping when playing a Blu-ray disc. I would encourage others with a Philips LiteOn PLDS DH-4B1s drive supplied with a Dell PC to e-mail Dell and LiteOn requesting a firware update, other than 7D16, which will read the AACS License Key.

Saaber, are you aware of a newer firmware update for the PLDS DH-4B1S drive beyond the 7D16? I am not.

In fact, Dell sent me a replacement drive. Good news, the replacement drive worked!!!! No issues so far. Wow, would never of thought the issue to be hardware related. Still have no clue what is wrong with the original drive. Could have been firmware, but the Dell support tech I talked to did not know of a newer firmware update.

I did notice that the replacement drive is a different brand\model. It is Hitachi\LG HLDS BH20N.
