Mpeg codec

since re-installing PDR9 on a new HDD, I am getting a message that I need to activate an Mpeg codec, but when I try to do so am told that activation failed due to lost internet connection or expired product key! Tech support can only advise me to disable antivirus software and try again - same result. Does any of my esteemed colleague PDR users have a solution that might work?

Did you by any chance install the update before you activated the program?

If so, uninstall PD.

This time
1. install PD program
2. install the contents
3. Run the program enter your product key. (activate the program).

Once you have activated all the parts, then you install any updates.

Nah! - been down that route. Installed original download, activated then installed update. Thanks for the input - any other suggestions folks? I suppose that I'll finish up uninstalling yet again and starting from scratch, which has been the sequence with PDR since early versions. Seeking wisdom - finding fluff - but wise fluff!

I think this happens if you don't "activate" the codec within 30 days of installing PD. There is some other piece having to do with a particular output format that follows the same rule.

If remember this all correctly, I think the only solution is to go back to CyberLink. Jerry Schwartz
