My responses are prefaced with ">>", may be boring but the first step.
>>Hello Gaurav,
>>Please be sure to have a look at the additional information I have posted in the CL forum also:
1. Please ensure your CyberLink PowerDirector is up-to-date.
>>I have the current version 10.0.0.1012
2. Make sure there is sufficient hard disk space available. Please check system requirements page.
>>C: Drive (OS and Program) Intel SSD 213GB Free of 279GB
>>M: Drive (Media working drive) Seagate 7200 Barracuda 1.79TB free of 1.81TB
>>S: Drive Intell SSD 238GB of 238GB Free - this is used for Temp
>>OS win7/64bit/sp1 fresh install 3 weeks ago just prior to updating Intel SSD firmware.
3. Update the firmware/driver for you CD/DVD/BD writer. Please contact your CD/DVD/BD writer manufacturer for updated firmware/drivers.
>>Pioneer BD-RW BDR-205, current with firmware 1.11
4. Choose the lowest possible speed for recording a disc.
>>FYG, I have no problems burning to disk. The program halts during authoring, prior to disk burn. Also, as explained in my thread, I am able to burn over 5GB BluRay's if the "project" does not have a large amount of edited clips.
5. Use a good quality supported media to burn the disc. CD/DVD/BD writers are not compatible with all type/brand of discs. Please contact your CD/DVD writer manufacturer regarding the supported disc types for your player. Try some different and recommended brand of blank CD/DVD/BD disc.
>>Thanks, fyi, I use TDK, both BD-R and BD-RE without any problems burning.
6. Empty the contents of the C:\Windows\temp folder and C:\temp folder, if you have one. Then empty Recycle Bin.
>>Good idea to do and do so prior to any large projects. This has been done to no effect on the problem. Those who can carefully use CCleaner, like to use this product.
7. To avoid any compatibility issues, please close all other applications while the burn process is going on. This includes anti-virus software, anti-spyware software like ZoneAlarm, pop-up blockers, and instant messaging software like MSN Messenger.
>>Yes, I shut down virtually all applications, including antivirus, which I use Norton Internet Security. I have no messaging, etc. on this machine as it was set up for video editing only.
8. Defragment your hard drive. DVD/BD video files are very large and can quickly fill your hard drive to capacity. A fragmented hard drive can cause problems during DVD/BD burning. Make sure to defragment your drive(s) regularly.
>>Yes, my defragger is set to run weekly, however, you don't defrag SSD's. Keeping them clean of files is good...
9. Try to uninstall other CD/DVD/BD burning software like Nero, EasyCD Creator, Direct CD, Daemon tool, etc. Two burning software programs installed on same computer are known to cause conflict due to common files in them.
>>I have no burning software on the computer. FYG, this is not a disk burning problem.
>>Please let me know what other items, i.e. .m2ts file, etc. you would like to me to provide.
To confirm:
System, Asus Rampage III Extreme w/i7/980X - 12GB ram - 3XGTX480.
PowerDVD11 works great on all counts.
PowerDirector 3D live editing is great, a couple little tweaks to make it work but overall excellent, and contribute that primarily to difficulty of making monitors go in/out of 3d with drivers. Actually, kinda amazed it works so well.
I would like to have the issue of number of clips in timeline looked at and from the other data provided in the thread provided.
If there are known limitations to the number of "trimmed" "clips" allowed in a timeline before things start to overload, I would like to know those.
Thanks and best regards,
Dan
