Based on another recent post ( http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/19649.page ), I suggest you post a DXDIAG file before you proceed.

Here is the Diag you desire -- probably with regards to the aforementioned link. We surely appreciate the super contributors. I profusely apologize for neglecting the Diag with this question.

How did the trial work? You are a wee bit short of power, so you'd need some patience editing HD.
Your video card is also very out of date, go to NVIDIA and update your driver. I'd say get more RAM, too. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
Nvidia GTX 960(4GB)/16GB DDR3/
Canon Vixia HV30/HF-M40/HF-M41/HF-G20/Olympus E-PL5.
Tape capture using 6 VCR, TBC-1000, Elite BVP4+, Sony D8 camcorder with TBC.

Barry the crab was hiding under a rock and scuttled out to answer you. He is correct...update your video driver and you will get new 3d drivers, new HD Audio drivers, as well as new OpenCL support...all at once.

Make a RESTORE POINT before you install the video drivers. This is a laptop and the Verde drivers have been known to fail installation once in awhile (mostly on Dell machines..but caution is a good thing).

Even with that caution...the new video drivers are almost REQUIRED for PD10.

I think the G50VT has a 4GB limit on memory, so you may be maxed out. (is this a G50VT-x4 or G50VT-x5, etc.)

Barry, thanks for your contributions. Will update driver soon. Think I'm maxed on ram?! The trial went well. Had PD 7 earlier, wow! Just do mpeg2 commercials on the side. The fix to the previous link , for me, seemed to happen when I used a color board as my first frame, ie thumbnail (instead of video) as the board is typical in that bus anyway. Thanks again...

With 64bit, even Vista, more RAM is betterer. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

ASUS G50VT does not support more than 4GB. Some Asus users have installed 8GB, but this is not supported by ASUS.

And thank you Fred for the input. You and "the crab" must be quite the companions -- keeping each other awake anyway.
Talk soon?!

He bites! or pinches..or whatever it is. But we all try to contribute.

It's only 7:45 out here...10:45 where he is, we are a global group. Different times get different "clumps" of editors.

Wanted to let you know that the drivers are 150MB, so once you install them successfully, DELETE the downloaded file (or save them to a CD or external drive) to preserve adequate space on your C: drive for program use!!

This is a good practice as free C: drive space is critical with your Dual-core processor, low-end video card combination to assure proper performance..

Fred:
First, whats wrong with my C space?
Second, Im going to need exact instructions on downloading drivers..
You in CA?

Go to http://geforce.com , click on DRIVERS, enter your card information (choose GeForce 9M Series (Notebooks) on the right to locate your 9800M GS, and you will be able to download Version: 285.58 (WHQL Certified) drivers.

Nothing is wrong with your C: drive. But with limited dedicated Video Memory (497MB on your card) and a dual-core processor, you will want as much space free as possible for projects, videos and the temporary swapfiles that the program will generate (different than the space already taken by Windows for the pagefile).

Sometimes a project will require 4 times the actual size of the video clips being rendered during process...so the more you manage the free space, the happier you will be. 200 GB is plenty of drive space..just trying to train as I go!!
