Revert title text to original template?

Is it possible to revert the text on a title to the original text? For example, if I muck with my title to the point that it's hopelessly screwed up and I want to start over, is there any way to get the original text and layout back?

The only way I've found is to start a new project, and that seems a bit harsh. Jerry Schwartz

You could make a copy of the title before you start working on it. After the title designer opens up, click "Save As" and then append "-bkup" to the original name, or something like that.

If you don't like the changes you make to a title, and you have already exited the title designer, and it's well past recovery with Undo, then you can overwrite the title on the timeline with the backup version. I guess I didn't make myself clear.

Even if you select a different title template, it will "inherit" the text from whatever you had been using.

Now that you mention it, though, the text position is reset to whatever the new template specifies; so this isn't as big a problem as I feared. Jerry Schwartz
