Is the digital display requirement for Blu-Rays new?

We have a 5-year old projector with a VGA input we used to play Blu-Rays with PowerDVD10 without any problem. Needless to same, I'm a little annoyed that since upgrading we can no longer play Blu-Rays, and I'd rather not drop several hundred dollars on a new projector. Have I done something wrong, or can I really no longer use my analog projector with Blu-Ray discs?

You cannot play bluray through the analog VGA port anymore. This conforms with the BluRay specs requiring the analog hole to be closed for new players after a certain date.

Web search on ANYDVDHD. Use it with PowerDVD.
