PD10 Title Animation Bug? (Issue Resolved > 1129a Update Patch)

Hi All,

I think I may have found a bug with the PD10 Title Designer Animation Properties. The bug occurs when animation is applied to the “3D Like” type of text/titles. Please see a quick demonstration video here…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ6ff97pPpY

This 3D text animation properties glitch/bug, happens in both the 32 and 64 bit versions. But does not occur with standard 2D text, which works just the same (with the ability to have separate starting and ending text animations), as the animation of text does in PD9.

Can anyone confirm this 3D Like title animation glitch on their rig(s)?

[As a side note. I am also experiencing a noticeable increase in the PD10 program locking up (e.g. PD10.exe Not Responding), which requires the use of Task Manger to exit PD10, in order to re-gain control of my computer.]

CONFIRMED....................... SAME RESULT.........

One of the greatest things I think that PD has come up with... and it don't work. (whod a thunk?)

The 3D titles and animations are great. Like Cranston, I found the same thing he did. What a another LET DOWN. But we are used to it. I use tons of titles in my projects. We are hoping it is a trial version issue... as I am using the trial. I do plan on getting the update next week or so just so I can get the 3D titles....

I have not had a crash and do not normally get them..... I seldom work with video in my projects, I primarily make slide shows with only photos. Most of my projects are from photos 50 to 100 years old. I spend a lot of time scanning.....

Did you honestly expect PD10 to be any different from PD9, you will just have to wait for future versions of PD, which is being redesigned from the ground up and will be focused on usability and stability.

You did make one mistake in the YouTube video. You forgot to show the timeline with the title on it. I can't tell if you dragged the custom title down to the timeline or not. The title on the timeline should show "3D" in the corner of the clip's thumbnail. Robert,

Perhaps if you sent "Ted" (from your avatar/signature), on a visit to CL's Update Patch Team, we could get a fix in the next update.
Can anyone with a full retail version installed, confirm the glitch?
Perhaps it's just an issue with the trial version? Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips

Xerox,

The text template was placed in track #3 when I recorded the screen capture.
Wanted to keep the demonstration as short as possible, so as to not bore too many folks.

I was not dabbling in or with the true 3D mode(s) in PD10 at all, when doing the bug demonstration video.
I only used the 3D "Like" text option in Title designer, which doesn't necessarily (as far as I can tell), have anything to do with the true 3D options in PD10.

Oh Lord, is that right? PD is owned by Avanquest? Say it ain't so. That sure explains a lot to me.
I have been down the road with other buggy Avanquest software (that used to be good when the original developers owned it)
Seems like development, at least on other AV programs, happens once a yr over lunch. Support, other than users? well you already know the answer.
Doomed

I had to poke about to unearth what fueler was talking about. Avanquest is some other company entirely.
Cyberlink owns PD.

Update:

No fix for this Title Designer issue/bug, in the 1012 update patch.
Pretty disappointing, as it was reported with in a couple days of PD10's release. Click here PDtoots for a collection of PowerDirector Tutorials and Tips
