So then, this is an incomplete program? Not yet finished, just released? I'm happy you found that quote, it gives me a modicum of hope.

EDIT: Maybe it was New Blue that wasn't ready, we'll never know, but I have a ticket into them.

This is also mine understanding. Funny, I thought that there is a common plugin architecture that allows interchange plugins regardless of editing software (of course OS dependant). It looks that it is the other way around.

@heinzb58: Thanks!

I do not know when other products may be made compatible END QUOTE

EDIT: New Blue means quality FX, and they have a FANTASTIC stabilizer, I own it, but I need it to work in PD.

Pull your claws in Barry! No one was having fun at your expense! The occasional jab amongst comrades should not be seen as a precursor to WAR!

I am having fun with the New Blue Plug-ins though!

I recently purchased the GPU versions of NewBlueFX VideoEssentials 1 through 5. These aren't restricted to a particular video editor. I was able to install VideoEssentials 1 through 4, but not 5, in PowerDirector 10 Ultra. Not all the effects work correctly, and some are difficult to use. There is no color picker eyedropper to pick colors out of a scene. I have to resort to using a 3rd party color picker, making note of the color values and putting those values into the color boxes in the NB effect. You can't get transparency to work, making NB effects such as PIP and ChromaKey useless for their intended purposes.

I'm not sure what's hanging you up on installation. Do you have PowerDirecto 9 and 10 installed? Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.

I have downloaded all 3 of the "packages" that are offered by NewBlue FX for PD10 and have found several of them either ineffective, extremely slow, or simply not working correctly. I do not know the reason since neither they nor Cyberlink offer any support insight. Win 10, i7

I down loaded the "Video Essentials 2" trial version to test out the New Blue Chroma Key with a trial version of Powerdirector 10 (whether deluxe or ultra I don't know). Here's how it went, I encountered the same problems Xerox and HDedit did, some of the plugins don't work.

All 5 adjustable parameters of the chroma key plugin worked for me when the "Show Mask" was enabled, however 3 parameters, "Sensitivity," "Shrink," and "Soften," failed when the show mask was disabled, they didn't work no matter what I tried. The 2 remaining parameters that did work were, "Color Range" and "Ease Spill," but they seemed to function moderately because although they keyed out the green screen, a grey background was left instead of a transparent one, so nothing was key out!

I tried the same thing but with Adobe Premiere (64) and the New Blue Chroma Key worked wonderfully.

Something is wrong with New Blue FX's compatability with Powerdirector, what a shame because I would be very interested otherwise. If anyone has any insight please share it, thanks.
