I've been horsing around trying to get SmartSound to work, and this involved uninstalling and re-installing PD9 several times. Now it rejects my key.

Did I use up some allowed number of installations? If so, what do I do?

I opened a ticket with Cyberlink, but I don't know when I'll get a reply. Jerry Schwartz

Hi Jerrys,
Let me know how you get on.

Installation procedure.
Install PD9 (full version)
Install Contents pack
Apply activation key
Update PD9 patch applied
PD should run ok.

This is why I recommend a good disk image package, when reloading and trying things ... it saves a lot of reactivation cycles.

I truely wish the windows set point worked as advertised, but I never had much luck withit. RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB GDDR6

I have a good disk image program; in fact, I have a good backup program that also does disk images up to and including a bare-metal recovery.

The problem is that I don't want to re-image my disk because there's other stuff on it, and there's no identifiable group of files that would bring back an application with as many pieces as PD9. Jerry Schwartz

Thanks! You nailed it, Dafydd.

The key is to activate the product before applying the patch.

Why does everything about this product have to be a riddle?

I'd like to give CyberLink a tip of the hat for this one.

I opened two tickets on this issue, one with tech support and the other with customer support, on 2011-09-26. On 2011-09-28, I got a reply from each with a link to the solution.

Of course, Dafydd beat them to it and the whole thing is ridiculous, but that's another topic. Jerry Schwartz

HI Jerry,
If you have the link they gave, I'd like to read it please. The solution I gave, came from getting "it wrong" ha ha. Thank you for the kind words.
