What does it mean when magic motion grayed out? The other magic tools show up.

Even loaded mpg video that came with program and it is grayed out also.

I used it a month ago and it worked OK.

PD9, Win7, 8 g RAM

The clip is in the timeline. I click on edit/magic tools and the magic motion is grayed out.

Using the Nature.mpg clip that came with PD9 for test.

curt y,

For the magic motion you require still images (pics) in the time line.

OK, what I was looking for is the same effect applied to video.

I want to take a video and then zoom in on a portion of frame, say a face, and follow the face as it walks across the screen using keyframes to redeposition zoomed area. This is what is done in magic motion on a still frame.

I know how to use the blur effect to do this, but with zoom in I can not see any way to reposition the zoomed image within the frame . Seems like it just zooms in and the center of the image stays at same place.

First : Magic motion only works with Photos (like jpeg...)

Second: You can change the position of the zoom under motion designer and you can see the changes in the small window on the left (within the motion designer).

and, not only but also...

curt y -

The video version of Magic Motion is Video Crop, in Power Tools. You can use it for the purpose you've described.

Here's a PDtoots tutorial about it - http://www.youtube.com/user/PDtoots#p/u/18/7Lsn369hlk8

Speaking strictly of video, I still do not see any way to position the zoom that is in the Effects Room.

Am I in the wrong spot? Perhaps there is a zoom someplace else.

Tried Crop in Power Tools but setting another keyframe and trying to adjust zoom seems to applies zoom to the whole clip.

The motion designer is in Magic motion, but as you say that only works with still images.

More hints please.

OK got it I think. With the clue and links that helped.

Trick for me is to watch the green path line to see where the efffect is going.
