Recycle bin always full after closing PD9

Every time I close PD9, there are all sorts of folders and media clips in my computer's recycle bin. The projects have all their components when I open them again,- but I'm not understanding why the bin has these files in it? Are those temporary files, and the program does a handy disposal of them that way?

Yes I think they are, it is safe to delete these.

Thanks for the response, James - Yes, I can see nothing happens from deleting those recycle bin files. It was just surprising to see all those files pile up in there after every time I close PD9. If I understand it correctly, it's probably a clever way for the program to assure the user that temp files are really being deleted - unlike most programs which use temp files which can linger on your machine for a long time.
