Fade in from black

I'm trying to figure out how to create a still frame so I'll still have a thumbnail picture on a video that I'm going to fade in from black. Can't find that one in a forum search. Dustie

Or, just a fade transition.

Pip Designer, use the fade in, fade out options

Thanks for the answer Dafydd. I did have the Fade in Fade out in place, but was looking on how to place a still shot before the Fade in...figured I'd just try snapshotting one of the shots of the video and use the snapshot in front of the Fade in..seems to be working. I'm rendering now so keeping my fingers crossed it works. I just didn't want only the fade in, since then wound't the thumbnail be black if I uploaded it to a video stock site? Dustie
