Audio clip speed

I have been trying to edit some audio clips, and I've run into a number of problems of which this is one.

All of a sudden, one (and then another, and then another) started playing at around a zillion:1 speed. All I get is an ear-piercing shriek.

The duration looks fine on the timeline, and in the trim tool; but except for the initial noise I get nothing when I play them back.

The original files are unchanged and play just fine outside of PD.

I'm using build 2903.

Hi Jerrys,
Is this a one off for you? Is it repeatable with other projects? Can you provide a video screen capture of the event perhaps, for editors to understand the issue further?

It's my first project in awhile, and my first and only with the latest build. I'll try to start a new project and see what happens.

It did happen to every clip I touched.

I don't think a screen shot will help at all, because there's nothing to see! Everything looks perfectly normal. The scrubber moves through the clip as usual, and it doesn't look any different at all.

Now an ear shot might be helpful. Let me know when you have your ear pressed to the monitor, and I'll let you have it.

I am unable to reproduce this problem, even when I open the project that was exhibiting it. I guess you could call it a zero-off.

I hate it when that happens. PFM
