hi, new user, really like the forums but finding exactly what i need isnt anywhere ive looked.. im really happy with powerdirector 9 after trying other over detailed software for me, this one is perfect!

just a quick question, its the first time ive had an 18min video (avchd) and i need to split to 2 pieces for youtube uploading, ive split it up in the timeline ok, but not sure what way to save it as two seperate bits/move it, so i can edit/create movie for each one independantly..?

thanks!

i love to reminisce!!

Pauly;
If you use the PRODUCE to YOUTUBE option in PD9 it will split it FOR you.
I have used it in the past.

I didn't see ClancM's post at first, but his is also an excellent way to proceed

Welcome to the forums!
Heres one way to do it:
Take the original file with the 18 min video and slip it into 2 parts that will upload to youtube. Delete the first half then click Save As, under file, and save part 2 as a different file. Then either click undo, or reopen the original, but get back to where you had the full video. Split it at the same part and save the first half. Then upload them to youtube.

Best of Luck!

Edit: I didn't see Fred's response before i typed mine, but his is also an excellent way to do it.
