Blu Ray Menu question for PD9 ultra

Hi,
On a blue ray menu you have various menu options "play move-language-scene selection-extras'. When creating a project in PD9 Ultra on a 64b system for a BD disk does 'Create disk' module create the scene selection 'menu' optiion based on the chapters contained in the 'timeline' of each 'Produced' file that is imported? (hope I am clear on my queary?).
Example:
I produce a project that contains various clips in the timeline, each clip has a 'chapter'. I now produce that clip to a folder. Now I create another 'project2' doing the same with chapters, and produce that 'project2' to its folder.
I restart PD 9 and go to 'create disk'...modify a menu template...then for content I import the projects 1 and 2, and apply my modified menu. Does the chapter/Title portion pick up the chapters from all or just utilize the videos I imported as chapters?

In the Create Disc module, if you use "Import additional videos" for your produced "project 1" and "project 2" you will loose your chapter points. You can of course redefine them. However, rather than importing the produced files, if you use the "Import PowerDirector projects" icon in the Create Disc module you will retain the chapters you defined in both pds project1 and pds project 2.

My posts in the additional two links should shed a little more light.

I don't understand why you would produce two separate projects. What's the reason for not just importing the video into one project, editing, and creating a disc with one long video with chapters?

Hi Jerimiah,
If you create one long video project on the Create disk module I don't believe you would have chapters, just scenes.

Just personal preference. Say you create a vacation DVD of two summer vacations, one to Mt Rainier and one to the Grand Canyon. These are my two titles/scenes and I'd like each to have chapters to highlight video events in each. If you import all the video and create one project and many chapters as you suggest, if I used 13 chapters for Mt Rainier, what does the 14th chapter in my DVD menu system, buried at least 3 menu pages deep (4 or 6 chapters per pg depending on BD or SD) which starts my Grand Canyon trip have to do with this initial Mt Rainier vacation, nothing. If one wants the initial ability to select which trip I want to watch on the title page, Mt Rainier or Grand Canyon and when selected then select which chapter in that particular vacation I'd like to view, you would do this by importing two titles in the Create DVD area. Each title has its own set of chapters, not just a whole bunch of chapters with one large project.

It also gives one the opportunity to have one PD pds project to work on Mt Rainier and a totally different PD pds project to work on for the Grand Canyon.

Just user preference is all.

Hi Jeff,
Thank you! You explained far better than I did...so thank you...shows that experience with a program has its benefits..
