Have you tried to burn to a folder then use your BD software to burn to B?

It strikes me that you are using the wrong format for BLu Ray...blue ray is either Mpg-4 or H 264 format (mts file)

Not really, BD also supports VC-1, (often used on many purchased BD's), MPEG-2 and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. PD currently supports 2 of these container formats, MPEG-2 and H.264, with various resolution for each when writing to BD.

If your BD burn crashes that quick, try deleting the menu background music and first play video if you have them. Try to burn again, if that is successful, reload the background music and try again. I'd do all this burning to folder as already suggested.

Alas, it still crashes .... I have to tried burning to a folder; I have deleted the title background music and also tried on H.264 format. I am now going to try MPEG4.

I am new to this, so I may have done something really stupid !! As I have said, I have the produced file, its the burn bit that goes wrong?

Not sure what you mean by that statement. Are you implying you are going to "Produce" your video to a MPEG4 format and then bring that produced video back into a timeline to burn to a BD folder? If you are going to "Produce" prior to burning make sure you do that in the same format and bitrate you intend to use when you burn to BD folder and and then bring that back into a new timeline when actually doing the burn to BD folder task.

Maybe if you attach a screen capture of your timeline as well as capture of your "Create Disc" area and some info about your footage (type, bitrate, resolution) maybe something will be more obvious.

Thanks ...... like I said, I am very new at this and dont know all the do's and don'ts with formats, bit-rates etc. However, I have attached some screen dumps, which is hopefully what you are after. If not, let me know how to find it.

I noticed on one of your screen shots that you are using Mpeg2..try Mpeg 4 for blu ray...I have an Lg blu ray burner and write to BD-re disk first before using a BD-R disk.
Lower write speed on disk...I find it stops 'stuttering'
Just a suggestion.. I use BD-re disk in my PS3...before commiting to final.

I am at present trying to burn to a folder. Is there an option to change the burn speed on PD ??

I have another couple of shots, one with the error shown.

To help isolate your issue, I’d offer the following:

1) First verify that you can burn a project to a BD folder by using some of PD sample footage. Essentially Part H test 1 explained here http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/7958.page except use BD disc type and select no menu, H.264, HD 1920x1080. If successful, select the menu you customized and try again with this sample project. I’m a little concerned with the Miami Vice Theme.mp3. I and others have had some mp3’s not cooperate with PD very good both here and in the timeline.

2) If you can burn a BD folder in the above steps successfully, then I’d get back to your project. Again, I’d use H.264, HD 1920x1080 based on your footage properties and do no menu and try to burn to BD folder, do not tick Burn to Disc. Unselect “Enable hardware video encoder”, I see you have it ticked.

If you are feeling real lucky, just do step 2.

Not sure if PD has 'Burn speed' option....(getting old and memory failing)...but if You use external program for burning the folder there should be...just don't use max burn speed... I either use Nero or ImgBurn to burn folder...if PD fails...which I haven't done lately..
I noticed you have some Meter thingies up in right corner try turning them off...video stuff requires all yer power...

It worked

I took off the "meters" and I also felt a bit "lucky" Jeff and so I went straight to option 2 on your suggestions. I also went for your suggested settings Jeff ...... and hey presto, it worked. Firstly to a folder and then straight to a BD.

Then I tried it with my disc menu settings (minus the music) and it worked again. I would like to put some background music on there ....... what format do you use Jeff - wav; m4a etc ??

I really really want to thank you guys. Without you I would still be considering throwng the PC out the window

It appears WAV files have been the safest, however, PD does support WAV, MP3, WMA and M4A which I successfully have used all at times. It could be some specifics about the files that cause the issue, possibly there bitrates.
