I am having problems with the video lagging, hanging and kinda skipping when editing. This occurs in the preview video screen. I can no longer sync up the audio with the couple videos it is so bad.

Someone from Cyberlink support help me. I have purchase this product since version 6. Or if anyone else has a solution please let me know.

I am attaching my version (cyberlink attachment)
32 & 64 bit computer information.

I am using windows 7. I did not install anything new recently. A windows update did occur. Could that be the issue. Just last week I was able to edit and produce a video with ease and no issues.

I tried a restore on my computer.

I downloaded the patches.

I unistalled and reinstalled.

I also resintalled the video drivers thinking it was them.

I also tried uninstalling again this time also uninstalling quicktime and roxio (which I had installed since the beginning of time) and same issue.

No luck and I am getting really annoyed b/c I have a project I need to complete for a client. I need help asap. If someone cannot help me here I guess I will have to pay the $30 (which I feel is a little ridiculous since I have paid a few hundred dollars for this program both at home and in my law office. I feel support should be honored for the life of the product, but anyway I'll stop by venting).

Please help.

Thank you so much.

Ernie

What type of video are you trying to edit? You have a dual core processor and looks like onboard graphics, so if you are working on HD, you are going to have problems. Your graphics driver is also 2 years old, so an update might be in order. A lot depends on the codec and resolution of the clip that you are working on. __________________________________

It is HD 1920x 1088. I edited a song from the show I recorded last week 6/16/11 and had no problems what so ever. It's really weird. I had no delays, no hang ups, no skips and it is video shot with the same cameras that I used.

I tried finding updated drivers for my dell inspiron 1545 machine and I just couldn't find where to download. I even went to the dell site and it would not download the update for some reason and I;m not an idiot when it comes to computers.

I'll give the graphics driver another shot.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the response.

Well Jaime-esque, I tested with non HD video and everything worked fine. I cannot figure out why it worked last week with no issues. Now, if you can answer this what do I need to do to make this work on my machine?

Again I have Window 7, 64-bit, 4 GB RAM and 320 HD. How much more do I need in order to make this PD 9 work with HD video.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Was the last video of the same type? I can barely edit AVCHD, but have no trouble at all with MPEG 2 HD although both are 1080. I also find that I have a great deal of trouble with XviD, which is an open source codec used by several devices. __________________________________

Hi,
Please look up the PD9 read me located here on your system: file:///C:/Program%20Files/CyberLink/PowerDirector/Language/Enu/Readme.htm#Requirements use copy'n'paste and drop the address into your browser.

For 1080 footage you have insufficient power capability. Even my system's on the edge.

You need a bigger CPU - an i7
You need a minimum of 6GB (8+ is better) of ram for W7/64bit.
You need a GPU with a minimum 1gb
You need to retain a minimum of 100GB (200 some say) of processing space on C drive.
You should opt for large internal SATA drives (they're cheap)and not SSD at this time - do a google and ask around.

1920 x 1080 is a big "call" on your computer and even if you opt to use shadow files your system just wont have the power or the kick to do "the business".

This is just my opinion, others may want to chip in.

Yes,
I agree with the comments made by others - you need a LOT more power then you have on this machine. I simply does not have enough CPU and Graphics processing capability. - Sorry

Thank you all for your input. I really appreciate it. I find it very weird though that it worked with the initial song I edited and produced. The video was HD 1920 x 1088. Taken with the same Canon 7D at the same setting throughout the entire concert.

Cyberlink support sent me an email to change a few of my settings which I will try tonight. If those changes work I will let you all know.

Thanks again,
Ernie

Hi,
If you worked on a short clip and used Shadow edit files, allowed the shadow edit files to be created. The mov file from the Canon 7D could be edited. However, the render/processing of the file even a short clip takes a LOT longer than one in a higher spec PC.

The Canon 7D is a cracking good camera and the resolution/quality is much higher than what most video editors use, 42/46 mbps compared to many on 24mbps.

ok I upgraded my system so I have a lot more power (Dell XPS L502X, Intell Core i7-2820QM CPU @2.30 GHz, 8 GB RAM) Windows 7 64-bit. Needed an upgrade anyway.

I reinstalled Cyberlink on this system and also upgraded to PowerDirector 9 build 2930 and am only showing a green screen when editing from my files window (see attached), but when I have files in my timeline they do show.

Is there a driver I should download or an update from cyberlink that someone knows about? I searched and updated all my drivers, I am pretty sure.

If this has happened to anyone else please let me know if you found a solution.

Thanks,
Ernie

Yes.

The green screen issue is usually the graphics driver.

The latest graphics driver for your new Dell XPS L502X is dated 3/8/2011 and is available from the Dell support web site.

You can start here:
http://support.dell.com/support/index.aspx Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.
