3D not working after patch
[Post New]
Hello out there,
I'm having a problem with activating the TrueTheater 3D after installing the patch 1719.
When I try to activate the function (I use anaglyph, red/ cyan) the movie goes black; the interface continues to work, only the movie goes black. This also happens for watching photos and videos.
The problem persists even after installing the latest graphics driver.

Now i have a long shot after running some tests this weekend with PowerDVD 10. I know and read you have PowerDVD 11. There is one of 2 things that fixed my B3D playback after using the most recent patch that was supposed to fix 3d issues.
The new patch supports IE9 and if you are using windows media center to playback through powerdvd cinema mode. I think installing IE9 may have allowed my 3d to work again.
The other thing i did was to completely uninstall all NVIDIA items - physx, drivers, reboot, uninstall more nvidia items 3dtv play, hd audio, and reboot. I then installed the latest beta drivers again with the custom installation and clean option checked. Installed my 3dtv play, configured audio and video settings. Configured playback mode to 3d hd video and started windows media center.

Like I said its a long shot and it was either installing ie9 or redoing all the nvidia drivers that fixed my black screen during 3d playback.

Hi there.
Thanks for the reply, Larry Patrick.
I tried both of your recommendations but, alas, neither had any effect.

To address:
Retail version of PowerDVD.
I do not use any external programs while running PowerDVD.
No anti-virus at the moment.
My 3D settings are as said:
Anaglyph - red/cyan, 2D material to 3D
My PowerDVD 11 runs in the opposite of cinema mode (whatever the standard display mode is called).
(same thing happens in Cinema mode btw)
I have tried with TrueTheater display effects on and off as well as hardware acceleration on or off.

If I'm still missing something, please let me know.

Edit: I have no idea what audio hardware I'm using, except it's bundled with my motherboard or whatever that is called in English.
I use a 5.1 surround sound system, and in PowerDVD I use TrueTheater Surround additionally.

Edit 2: Added DxDiag.exe file.

Is this patch supposed to correct the issue with the new GeForce 275.xx drivers not working properly in 3D? nVidia just released the 275.33 WHQL drivers and I am interested in buying PowerDVD for 3D Blu Ray playback and would like to know if this issue is supposed to be fixed.

Thanks!

Just updated my geforce graphics driver to 275.33 WHQL (from the beta version I had been running). This however had no effect. Problem still persists. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1

After I updated to 275.33 WHQL 3D Bluray playback no longer worked.
I reinstalled prior 275.27 Beta driver using custom install with clean install option checked.

3D playback works now!
Be sure to enable and test 3D in the Nvidia Control Panel too. Intel 980X - Nvidia 580 GTX SLI - Asus Formula MB

Thanks Larry, but I went from the driver before the beta, because 3D didn't work, to the beta driver to the final relesase, neither unfortunately fixed my problem, but thanks anyway. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1

Both Neither work after patching PowerDVD to v. 1719. Both worked before patch. I do 2D->3D Video and/ or DVD conversion with Anaglyph Red/Cyan output. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1

Hi Morten,

I tried on several platforms here and all are ok - no problem to do TrueTheater-3D for files and DVD.

can you please specify if:
- any codec pack is installed (if yes - which ones)
- if Codec pack is installed do you see pop up icon in notification bar?
- is 2D playback OK

- I have no codec packs installed.
- I use AnyDVD to watch DVD's that are not region 2 (which my PC is). This however makes no difference. I have tried uninstalling it and that does nothing to help the problem.
- 2D playback: all functions work as expected; video, DVD, images etc.

edit: it appears I had the codec K-Lite Mega Codec Pack installed after all. Uninstalled, restarted, still same problem. Will try reinstalling PDVD11.

So should PowerDVD 11 with this patch work with the latest nVidia drivers, 275.33 with 3D Blu Ray?

Thanks!

Just to keep the people updated:
Just installed the new NVidia 280 patch.
Not the solution, unfortunately.
I'm beginning to just hope the next PowerDVD patch will take this bug away from me as fast as the first one made it.

Hi,
as you use NVIDIA - please check:

1. in NVIDIA control Panel activate 3D and choose 3D-Vision discover
2. in PowerDVD 3D settings check the settings of the display and choose "anaglyph" manually if not auto detected
