Can't move Music Track ? (PD 9)

Hi,
I added a SmartSound music track to the Music Track (with the music note icon), but now that I am trying to move it to the Track with the loudspeaker icon, it literally won't move. It's like the other tracks are locked out.

Any suggestions as to why this is happening? I've tried re-booting a bunch of times, but it doesn't have any effect.

The reason I am trying to do this is that when I initially Produced the video (Video 1) and uploaded it to youtube, no sound played.
I made another vide (Video 2), and added music on the tracks with the loudspeaker icons and they play fine on youtube. So I am hoping that by doing the same thing to Video 1, it will play with audio on youtube.

Any suggestions??

I don't know that you can put Smart Sound audio in an audio track. Have you checked the volume levels in the mixing room? __________________________________

There are only two places you can place a Smart Sound clip. Makes no difference, also makes no difference for your finished product.

@Jaime-esque, Yes, I just double-checked. The music is up to 50. It plays after it's produced, but not on youtube.

@Bubba in NY. Okay, so now I understand why I couldn't drag the SS to the musical icon track, but I did try producing the video with the SS on both of the tracks you indicate. The video plays in quicktime after it's produced, but not on Youtube.

It's really baffling me. The other video I made, I used royalty free music and that plays fine. Weird.

The you-tube filters sometimes wrongly flag soundtracks as having Copyright infringement soundtracks.

Is you-tube telling you that it removed the sound track due to copyright issues?

When in your account, view your videos. If this is the problem you will see something like “Matched third party content. View Copyright Info. “

If so, you will need to go through the You-Tube dispute process. Click on the highlighted “View Copyright Info” to start this process.

@SDR, good suggestion, but no that's not the case. Believe it or not, i am using a Smart Sound track- the last time this happened to me all I had to do was download the latest quicktime. I used royalty free music in a different video and that one uploaded fine -go figure! Thanks again

Hi cbidnick -

There are some unresolved SmartSound/PD issues, but I'm not sure whether they're at play in this case. You may be interested to read these threads, where they're discussed:

http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/16498.page

Those issues are partly connected with certain SS tracks not playing in the produced file, rather than your particular YouTube issue. I wouldn't be surprised if they're related.

One "workaround" sometimes used is to insert the offending SS track in a new project (with required duration set) and produce that to an audio clip (.wma or .wav). The produced file is then imported into your video project as .wma or .wav.

Did you use PD's YouTube uploader or do it manually through your YT account?

Cheers - Tony

@ynotfish, Thank u, I will read those articles at once. I had a feeling I might have to create a new project, which I didn't really want to do, but anyway I have to do what I must. I upload through my Youtube account. And I'll read those articles immediately

@ynotfish, In your first article, I noticed I am having trouble with the SAME TRACK, Pavane!

No -

You don't need to create a new project a re-edit your video. Just open a new project purely for the purpose of "tricking" that SS track (Pavane) into behaving as it should. It's only to convert the audio clip into a "stable" .wma or .wav file, which can be imported into your other project.

I am fairly certain that if you do that, your audio will be present on YouTube.

Cheers - Tony

@ynotfish, I tried the .wma file suggestion; audio is still silent on youtube. I'll try the the .wav file now...

SUCCESS! I saved the music file as an mpeg 4 audio file and I Produced the project as an mpeg 2. Perfect video and audio.

Normally, I just produce as a .mov, but I won't do that anymore.

THANKS TO YNOTFISH AND TO ALL!

ps. here is the link to what I've been trying to produce for a week http://youtu.be/jO_TKIScyJs
