Hi,
I don't know if this is the correct forum or not so move the post and inform me.
I have searched DirectorZone tutorials and found some help but not exactly (or I missed it).
I have an idea for a 'Mask' in Pip designer that none of the predefined masks fit How do I save my custom made mask in the 'mask' directory so it is displayed?
I hope you understand my request.

Hi James

PDToots has this tutorial with Adrian. Even though it is for PD8, it should work for PD9.

Hi James -

This might help too. Masks can be created and saved easily - especially for a person of your perspicacity!

Hi,
Thanks to both of you for the links. I was looking in PDtoots and the new tutorials for PD9 for them. These will help tremendously.
Again Thanks

I'll bet the "Mask Creator" program, from an old friend on here, would work, too. Even if it installs to the wrong directory, you can always move the files, but I'll bet it works properly. Hey BarrytheCrab -

I just tried Charles Forsyth's Mask Converter (for PD7), to test your hypothesis.

Two files are generated... the mask is in .msk format & the thumbnail is a .png. Charles' Mask Converter (by default) actually files these in the correct directory for PD9 - C:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDirector\Masks

As you'd expect, the mask does not appear in PD9's PiP Designer mask library because it's not in the correct format.

When saving the mask, there is no option to save it in any other format but .msk, which is not consistent with other masks in PD8 or PD9. Apparently, .msk files can be opened with Corel PSP or XnView, but the latter didn't work for me. If it could be renamed as a .png, it would work in PD9.

Cheers - Tony

Barry -

There are some who would dispute your kind observations, but I appreciate them!

This mask is just for you (attached with thumbnail).

Can anybody disagree that MASKS would be a STELLAR addition to the Dzone? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)
