3D Blu Ray playback in Media Center 7

Hello,

I recently upgraded from an ATI 4XXX series to the ATI 6450 to obtain HDMI 1.4a support as well as HD audio and 3D Blu Ray playback support. Over the weekend I have been experimenting with playback and finally figured out how to enable HD audio (not very clear Cyberlink). Anyway, Blu Ray playback within Media center seems to be OK thus far but 3D blu ray playback is very choppy and not acceptable to watch. Another issue is when inserting a 3D Blu Ray the disc attemps to load (See the POWER DVD loading screen), the software automatically changes my refresh rate to 24hz (I have a Samsung 240hz LED LCD), which is great! and then I am presented with an empty blue screen. I can let it sit there forver and nothing loads, it seems PowerDVD crashes at this time. I then hit the back button and attempt to load Power DVD manually from the media center plug in and SOMETIMES it will work.
As a test I closed the media center GUI and play the same 3D Blu Ray back in Power DVD itself and all is fantastic, I am using hardware acceleration and the latest ATI 11.5 CAT drivers.

So in summary of issues:
Using latest 2701 patch
Using latest ATI CAT 11.5 drivers (have disabled all video advanced and basic features except auto interlace and auto pulldown)
Playback of 3D Blu Ray in media center is horrible, very choppy
Media Center autoload of 3D blu ray switches to 24hz and then does nothing, have to back out and attempt a 2nd manually launch using media center plug in
Enabling HD audio can only be done when playing a Blu Ray disc which has HD audio (needs to be resolved)
Automatic switching back to 60hz after playback of a 24Hz 3D bluray title does not seem to work (have to manually change my desktop resolution which requires my mouse)
Can we enable an automatic switch to 24hz non 3D blu ray playback on the fly without a 3D disc, blu ray movie mode playback?

It still amazes me how a 150 dollar stand alone player can do all of this flawlessly and I can't get it to work on 3grand worth of hardware.

The first generation of DVD players had faults but they were soon ironed out. Blu Ray has been a moving target, it was never a stable environment and had a lot to do in order to catch up to HD DVD but I digress.

There are very few 3D BD stand alone players in the UK market and they have their quirks, even the PS3 that plays the movies still has faults.

Because the technology is constantly progressing I went Media Centre PC a few years ago on the basis that I could make minor changes to the components but it's been a fraut experience; the first issue was to get the PC quiet enough for the living room !

Anyway my current setup cost me less than £500 and it has an ATI 5670 card, my Samsung also switches to 24Hz for BD playback but I do not use WMC; I use the player in the desktop. The 6450 isn't the most powerful of cards but should be ideal for HTPC duties, it even supports ATI 3D, which films are choppy ? Have you tried to playback movies using PDVD in the desktop ?
