I have been working with Cyberlink Powerdirector for nearlt 2 years now and have found the Autosave feature a hassle in PowerDirector 9, as the autosave 'folder' is an appointed folder that Cyberlink should have created, but i cannot find it in my computer files and documents anywhere aftersearching the WHOLE computer? I have just finished a 6 minute music video edit, and when i went to save it, the Software became unresponsive, me expecting it to have saved it to the 'Designated Folder' it should have appointed the autosaves too..

You can change the location to auto-save the project files. Just make the change in the preferences. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Hi

I have read somewhere on this forum to 'uncheck' this function as the autosave can cause 'freezing'.

I personally do not use - as I did have have a few 'freezes' - and just 'save' on a regular basis.

Since 'unchecking the box' I have not had a 'freeze' since.

Happy editing

I've not heard that "autosave" can cause issues. It seems on it's surface to be a fairly benign function.
Does this also affect PD9? I wonder, it's quite a different program, though.

Haven't you tried it yet, Barry? - I would have thought with your rig(s) it would be any easy (and quick) install/uninstall if necessary.

Cheers

It helped me. I was looking for auto save because of the constant crashes. But ended up turning it off and now the crashing has stopped. And Many years later now on Power Director 21
