Matching Camtasia WMV file
[Post New]
I have a demo recorded by a media group using TechSmith's Camtasia. I edited this video to remove some bloopers, and need to recreate the shorter clip in the same WMV format. There doesn't seem to be a default profile in PowerDirector 8 that matches the properties of my original video file. When I tried to use the WMV 9 HD HQ profile, the file was significantly larger, but the video quality had degraded. When I tried to create my own profile, the video quality was even worse. btw... I am not using shadow files, as I thought that might be the problem. Removing them made no difference in the final output quality.

Does someone have a WMV profile that matches the properties listed below (1024x768 ), that I could try using to get the same smaller file size, yet better video quality that I see in the original Camtasia produced WMV file?

Below is the output that MediaInfo produced after analyzing the original Camtasia WMV file.

You can create custom wmv profiles.
Microsoft has a wmv profile editor.

Watch the tutorial on creating wmv profiles.

I created my own profile, as I noted in my original post. Apparently, it was not quite right, since I am still getting a significant degradation of the video quality while still ending up with a larger much WMV file. That's why I was hoping someone with more experience in creating profiles might have already created one that would fit the bill.

Perhaps they did.

I downloaded these from the forum some time ago, I don't remember who created them, may have been Dafydd.

Extract them and put them in this folder.
