Audio not uploading with Video on YouTube
[Post New]
Format:MOV Dimensions:1920 x 1080px Video codec:H264 Audio codec:AAC Camera Canon T3i, Audio created on Zoom H2

Using crop I elimnated the noisey bar at the bottom of the video, but both my 2nd Video and the recent load to You tube showed up without the sound track.

Both tracks were edited in Cyberlinks Wave Editor and I checked to be sure they were linked together with the audio. Anyone know why they might not have uploaded with the audio? The first image I did uploaded just fine with an added audio track. I have three on You Tube now...the first one had audio, the next two didn't.

Thanks for any insite you might have here. Dustie

Is there a chance that the audio (music) you used is Copyrighted?

Youtube has a strict policy on Copyrighted material. And will mute any video that they deem Copyrighted material.

Did you use Powerdirector upload to Youtube or did you produce the video, then upload via Youtube's Upload?

I produce my productions on my computer, test the video on my computer, then I sign into my Youtube account, and use their upload.

Hi Carl,

The tracks are my own creation. I made them by playing with the windchimes to keep the tinkling while taping morning birdsong and it's perfect to accompany my two bird feeder Videos.

I always do whatever editing of Video and Sound Track that's needed, make sure they are linked, and then produce them. After the producing, I always watch them in PD9 and save them to a file. Then I load them from the file up to You Tube. They always play with sountrack intact when I watch them in PD9, or if I open them direct from the file and play them in Quicktime. It's only on You Tube that the sound track disappears.

I did the exact same for the 1st Video that I did for the next two (or at least I think I did). Could it be possible that YouTube thinks my Windchime/Birdsong tracks are not my creation? I didn't remember seeing anything that I needed to check assuring them that nothing was copyright material. I just can't think of any reason why the audio wouldn't upload.

I'm going to try another and see if the same happens, and if there's something I'm not checking when uploading to Youtube verifying that the work is originally mine.

I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!

Dustie

Do you play the produced file in another player other than Powerdirector?

By playing the file in another player you take the produced file out of the Powerdirector environment.
If the file plays correctly in another player, you can be pretty sure the file will work uploaded to Youtube.

I can pull it up out of it's file, which is a folder I created on my desktop, and it plays perfectly in quicktime, complete with sound. But still no sound on You Tube. I do plan on doing another this evening...I just haven't had the chance to yet...and see if the same happens. I can't think of anything to do differently though, but we'll see. Dustie

I would still ask questions at Youtube.

The help on youtube may give an answer.

Well, I uploaded two more videos. One with the sound track that originally taped with the video and both vid and audio loaded just fine. The 2nd was another bird feeder video with the added chimes and birdsong audio and the audio didn't upload. When I pull up all three of my bird feeder videos to listen to them through Quicktime, they all are perfect with video and audio.

So now I'm going to try another experiement. I'm going to upload a 4th bird feeder video, but create a new birdsong/windchime audio track for it and try uploading it. Maybe there's something wrong with the first track that it won't upload to Youtube, but will play just fine locally on my computer.

Carl,

Thanks for the links, but no help there. I posted the question on the 2nd link you sent before I even posted it here and I've never gotten an answer. The first link didn't have an answer for me either.

Hi Dustie,
Perhaps a sample of the audio and the video (two files) could be given and tested by editors (and uploaded by them to youtube). just a suggestion.

I have the same issues with YouTube uploaded videos not having audio. My videos play fine on my PC in PD Ultra 9 or using QuickTime. I assume YouTube is stripping out my ORIGINAL audio as it has no copyrighted music, just real world sounds.

PD Ultra 9 will also not sign-in to YouTube using my correct credentials, it claims my password or name is incorrect (though it is not). I have to upload from my browser.
