PD9 Creation: Moon and Sunrise together...
[Post New]
Gear:
Canon SX200 IS point and shoot at ISO 80, Manual Focus, Manual White Balance
Canan Hack Development Kit (CHDK) with a scheduled intervelometer set for 5am to 10am, 5 second interval
Stitched jpgs into a mjpg .mov file at 1200P resolution, 30FPS
Used powertool crop feature for the slow motion zoom out. (big crop at the beginning, no crop at end)
Rendered at mpeg4 max quality preset.
Unfortunately I had to shoot through glass so as soon as the sun poked through the dirt in the glass shows up. The PD9 "remove noise" filter helped slightly.
Music from open source music... I should probably have gone with something softer.

Funny side story: I spent probably 20 minutes looking for a sunrise/moon rise/moon phase calendar trying to figure out what day the moon would be in the full moon phase while rising just before the sun. Then I realized that with the moon between us and the sun when they rise together, it's going to be hard to have this side of it fully illuminated.

Very cool the moon is really small. I liked it with or with oout my speakers on.

Since the sun and moon are both on the same side of the earth the amount of light hitting it that we can see will always be just a sliver.

Hi Bastian,

yes- there you go again. Nice work!!

(And yes, you might have gone with something
softer, music-wise, perhaps.)

Nina
Just something.
