Creating Video for Stock Sites
[Post New]
My main interest in learning video other then adding vids to my websites is also loading video clips to stock sites such as Pond5.com. This one little 30 second vid I've been working on should work, but I can't understand at all how to get it from PowerDirector into the right format for uploading to my account on Pond5. Here's their requirement list for loading of footage: http://www.pond5.com/document/video_requirements.html#

They want the clips in .mov format, but I can't get it to save in that format when producing in Powerdirector9. It just freezes. It is in that format out of the camera though, but I can't save it that way in PD after I do any Editing at all. I discovered that I can produce it in H.264 AVC, which leaves it with a different format extension from the .mov that Pond5 is wanting.

I do have Filezilla and won't have a problem uploading it to my account on Pond5 if I can just figure out how to save it in the .mov format Pond5 wants and then Exported Photo-JPEG in Compressor (I'm still trying to figure out what they mean by that too).

Problem is, all this is like reading a foriegn language to me. I'm that new to video. Can anyone recommend a good book out that that covers the basics, something really simple that would help me understand formats, Photo-JPEG compression for Video (I thought .jpeg delt with still images). I wish I lived in a big city...I'd pay to take some classes in this, but alas...no such beast around here so I'm turning to anyone in here who might be able to shed some light on any of this?

I just want to upload my little 30 second video to Pond5.com and to my website at www.beautifulbellavista.com (I'll look into using You Tube for that, but that won't work for Pond5.com).
Anyone? Thanks! Dustie

They have a link to a free converter.
we advise using a free program called MPEG Streamclip

Here is the link as provided by Pond5.

So you can produce your video in AVC format and convert it.

Pond5 did state that they want un-edited footage from your camera if it makes .mov files.

Thanks Carl, I missed the part about wanting unedited video if it's in .mov. That's probably my best bet, keeping my videos shot from the camera under 1 minute so I can send it direct and not worry about editing. Dustie
